Translation and legalization of documents

Cyprus has signed the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 concerning the abolition of the legalization of foreign public documents. Therefore the legalization has been replaced with a certification called an apostille, issued by the Ministry of Justice.

In order to be valid in Italy, the document must be translated into Italian at the P.I.O. (Press and Information Office – Cypriot government office) and presented to the consular office so that the translator’s signature can be legalized.
