From Friday 6 to Monday 9 December the frigate Federico Martinengo of the Italian Navy will stop in the port of Larnaca.
The presence of the Martinengo in Cyprus is part of the “naval diplomacy” activities carried out by the Italian Navy, in the context of international cooperation and dialogue with the countries of the area with which Italy has important political, diplomatic, economic and cultural relations.
The frigate Federico Martinengo, commanded by the frigate captain Luca Di Giovanni, was built under the Italian-French FREMM program (European Multi-Mission Frigate).
The Unit bears the name of rear-admiral Federico Martinengo, recipient of the Gold Medal of Military Valor in his memory.
