Italian Film Days 2019

Italian Film Days are back! From September 9th to 15th 2019 the Italian Embassy, in cooperation with the Italian film production company IMAGO Film Group, is presenting for the second consecutive year a Festival of Italian movies, among the best in their respective genres.

This year’s edition has been expanded with more films, more locations and full subtitles in Greek and in English.

Screenings will take place in Larnaca, Nicosia and Limassol, in partnership with K-Cineplex, Pantheon and Rialto theaters, with free admittance. The Festival Director, Claudio Rossi Massimi, a filmmaker himself, has prepared introductions for each of the films.

The official opening will be in Larnaca on September 9th at the presence of the Italian Ambassador and local Authorities, with the screening of the film “Quando Corre Nuvolari” based on the story of the Italian racing legend Tazio Nuvolari. The Festival moves to Nicosia on September 11th and concludes in Limassol on the weekend, with a special closing night on September 15th featuring the film “Un figlio a tutti i costi” (A Child at all Costs). Director/actor Fabio Gravina and producer/screenwriter Salvatore Scarico will personally introduce the movie. That same evening, based on the public’s ratings, the most liked film of the festival will be announced.

This second edition of Italian Film Days is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Culture, who also generously sponsored the subtitles in Greek, of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and of the Municipalities of Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca. It was made possible thanks to the important contributions of numerous sponsors and to the support of one of the leading Cypriot television networks, Antenna, as Media Sponsor.

“Italian Film Days 2019”, an initiative of the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus, has received a special funding from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the context of the bilateral cultural agreement between Italy and Cyprus. Through this initiative, the Embassy of Italy concurs to “Fare cinema”, a project of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at showcasing Italian quality film productions abroad in the framework of the promotional plan #VIVERE ALL’ITALIANA (“The Italian Way of Life”).
