The Embassy of Italy informs that, on occasion of the G7 Summit in Taormina (26-27 May 2017), controls at the internal borders of the Schengen Area will be temporarily reactivated at the Italian terrestrial, aerial and maritime borders from 00.00 of May 10 to 24.00 of May 30.
The suspension of the ordinary regime of freedom of movement within the Schengen Area will be applied according to Art. 25 of Schengen Borders Code (Regulation (EU) 2016/399).
Border controls may have a significant impact on travel times for non-E.U. nationals who will travel to Italy through another Schengen State.
