This is an initiative by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with MiBACT, ANICA, ICE, RAI and Istituto Luce \u2013 Cinecitt\u00e0 with the aim of promoting Italian cinema and its industry around the world. The week-long event will also be marked by the International Day of Italian Cinema (20 June) and will be a further occasion to celebrate the centenary of two great figures in the history of Italian cinema, Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Master classes on Fellini and Sordi\u2019s art of cinema, video lessons on filmmaking occupations (casting director, producer, documentary film director, screenwriter, costume designer\u2026) but also short films by Italian budding directors and recent Italian films and documentaries will be available free of charge (content available abroad as well) on RaiPlay.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 15th of June is dedicated to Alberto Sordi (Roma 1920 &#8211; Roma 2003), one of the most important figures in the history of Italian cinema and an award-winning actor of prestigious prizes, such as Nastro d\u2019Argento, The Golden Globe and David di Donatello. He started his career as a dubber however, the turning point occurred when Fellini chose him as the main character of his first solo film \u2018The White Sheik\u2019. The film that led him to success was the cult film \u2018An American in Rome\u2019, where he interpreted a character named Nando Moriconi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 18th of June is dedicated to Federico Fellini (Rimini 1920 &#8211; Roma 1993), author of some of the greatest classics of all time, e.g. \u2018La Dolce Vita\u2019 and \u2018Amarcord\u2019. The 5-time Oscar-winning director pursued a brilliant career directing influential Italian actors, such as Marcello Mastroianni and Alberto Sordi. Fellini\u2019s work has always been characterised by a style that blends fantasy with reality, by visual storytelling able to mingle his lost youth and his adulthood. Federico Fellini was also a journalist, a satirical drawer and for some time, a radio script writer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The videos will be streamed in Italian with English subtitles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the end of the initiative, some of the content will remain available on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCqJ1to1mYFtr-c_nswk0rAw?view_as=subscriber\">YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Follow the initiative on our social channels to find out more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"From the 15th to the 21st of June, the third edition of \u201cFare Cinema\u201d will be launched.
