Documents required for Schengen Visa applications – Tourism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Schengen visa e-form:<\/strong>\u00a0https:\/\/e-applicationvisa.esteri.it\/?L=en-GB<\/a><\/p>\n

The form should be completed online, printed and duly signed, please make sure that the bar code is clear and printed in high quality.<\/p>\n

If the applicant is a minor (under the age of 18) both parents\/legal guardian must sign the application form.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Passport or travel document<\/strong> (original plus one photocopy):<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 valid at least 3 months beyond the return date of your trip to Italy;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 with at least two blank pages.<\/p>\n

The passport will be kept and returned with the visa, if approved.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Cyprus Residence Permit<\/strong> (original plus one photocopy):<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 valid at least 3 months beyond the return date of your trip to Italy.<\/p>\n

The white receipts from the Migration Department are not accepted as proof of residence.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Two passport-style photos<\/strong>, full front and white background and not older than 6 months.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Cover letter<\/strong> explaining the purpose of your trip, your itinerary and any relevant information.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Fully paid both-ways airplane travel tickets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If traveling among multiple Schengen countries, travel tickets are mandatory between every border.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Fully booked hotel reservation<\/strong> OR original invitation letter<\/strong> from your host in Italy.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the invitation letter must be addressed to the Italian Embassy in Nicosia, dated and duly signed together with a photocopy of the host ID\/passport (the signature of the holder must appear). If the host in Italy is a non-EU citizen, host\u2019s Residence Permit in Italy is required (signature of the holder must appear).<\/p>\n

If traveling among multiple Schengen countries, proof of accommodation must be provided for every country.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Travel insurance<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 must be issued in Cyprus or in one of the Schengen countries;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 must cover the entire intended period of stay in the Schengen area;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 must cover for all of the following:<\/p>\n

a)\u00a0\u00a0 medical expenses and hospitalisation for at least 30,000 euros;<\/p>\n

b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 repatriation in case of medical and other emergencies\u00a0for at least 30,000 euros;<\/p>\n

c)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 repatriation of mortal remains for at least 30,000 euros.<\/p>\n

The insurance statement must be in original, stamped and duly signed by a Company\u2019s officer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Personal bank statement<\/strong> (banks or branches based in Cyprus) of the last three months showing bearer\u2019s name, address and financial history.<\/p>\n

The bank statements provided must show the salary, pension or income coming in.<\/p>\n

Any other Cypriot bank account (including savings) showing enough funds can be submitted.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Employed applicants<\/strong>, documentation of socio-professional standing:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a recent reference letter from the employer which must include:<\/p>\n

a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 company registration number;<\/p>\n

b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 employment start date;<\/p>\n

c)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 job title;<\/p>\n

d)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 annual salary;<\/p>\n

e)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 vacation period;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 payslips for the last 3 months.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Self- Employed applicants<\/strong>, documentation of socio-professional standing:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 certificate of incorporation (with commercial document attestation);<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 business bank statements for the last three months;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 copies of business income taxes or, in alternative, an accountant letter (no older than one month, it must be a hard copy).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Retired applicants<\/strong>, documentation of socio-professional standing:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 copy of your Social Insurance Statement confirming your retirement compensation.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Unemployed applicants<\/strong> must provide the following documents from their sponsor*:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 sponsorship letter: if the sponsor does not appear in person on the application day, the sponsorship letter must be notarized;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 documentation of socio-professional standing according to their professional situation (e.g. employed, self-employed, retired; please see previous points);<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 copy of the sponsor\u2019s passport or ID;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 birth\/marriage\/civil partnership certificate, please note:<\/p>\n

a)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 certificates issued by a foreign authority other than Cyprus, MUST be (1) in original, (2) provided with Apostille or, if issued by countries not members of the Apostille Convention, provided with legalization by the relevant Italian Consulate in the issuing country, and (3) if in a third language translated in English or Italian with a certified translation;<\/p>\n

b)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 certificates issued by one of the Schengen countries will be accepted only if multilingual;<\/p>\n

c)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 marriage certificates\/civil partnership certificates older than 6 months will NOT be accepted.<\/p>\n

*please note that sponsorships are accepted only among family members.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

In case of students<\/u>: recent (not older than one month) original reference letter duly signed, on the official headed paper from your University\/College addressed to the Italian Embassy (hard copy).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
In case of minors<\/u>:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 if one or both parents do not appear in person on the application day, a parental consent notarised by a Cypriot notary is mandatory;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 if the parents live abroad, the consent must be declared at the relevant Italian Consulate of their country of residence;<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a photocopy of both parents\u2019 passports must be provided.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Citizens of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine need to provide their birth certificate or consular declaration containing full names of mother and father.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Please be aware that, at the time of your appointment, your application will not be accepted unless presented with all required documents. In case of incomplete submissions, the applicant will have to schedule a new appointment.<\/p>\n

Applicants are allowed to submit any additional documents that they consider useful to explain\/justify the trip.<\/p>\n

Visa fees are payable only in cash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
