Visa Applications and other Forms

Schengen visas allow people to stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days every six-month period.

 

To apply for a Schengen Visa to Italy proceed as follows:

Fill out the visa application form online (one application for each person who is travelling) at the following link:

In order to apply for a visa, please present yourself at the Embassy in person at least 3 weeks prior to the departure during opening hours of Visa Section (fingerprints will also be taken on this occasion):

Monday and Friday: 09.00 – 12.00

Wednesday: 15.00 – 17.00

If you are travelling for TOURISTIC REASONS, you have to present the documents listed below, pay the fee and answer questions about your planned trip. The following documents should be submitted in original plus one photocopy (please note that documents should be in English language version when not in Italian language):

- * Application form (see link above);

- * One recent photograph (full frontal picture, light background, no tinted glasses);

- * Valid passport with at least two blank pages, the validity date of which must exceed the visa’s validity for at least three months. Passport issued more than 10 years before the visa application are not accepted;

- * A valid Residence permit in Cyprus, the validity date of which must exceed the visa’s validity for at least three months;

- * Minors (under 18 years of age) traveling on their own must submit the written consent of both parents. In case a minor should travel with only one of the parents, the parent/person responsible for the custody of the minor must present act of assent to expatriation, signed by the non-traveling parent. In both cases the assent must be signed in presence of a notary;

- * Two way flight ticket or approved reservation;

- * Hotel reservation (or letter of invitation if accommodation is provided by hosting person in Italy, see attached form);

- Proof of sufficient financial funds (e.g. bank account statement, from banks present in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, stamped and signed covering last 3 months, bank letter stamped and signed, information on salary, last three pay slip or declaration of support of the host);

- Letter from employer (stamped and signed) confirming that the applicant is currently employed by a company and valid contract of employment;

- Letter from the school for children, certifying the registration and the period of absence/holiday;

- For students: results of studies in Cyprus of the past semesters (transcript) and proof of enrollment;

- Travel Health Insurance policy. A valid travel insurance covering any medical expenses that might arise while traveling, including repatriation, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment. The insurance must be valid throughout the territory of the Schengen States and cover the entire period of the person’s stay. Note: the minimum coverage for medical expenses has to be Euro 30.000 (thirty thousand).

- * Marriage certificate and Passport of husband/wife (if applicable);

- * Birth certificate (in case of minors travelling with parents).

v Family members of EU-citizens, who travel together with the EU family member, must present themselves with the EU citizen and will have to present only the documents indicated with (*);

v Family members of EU-citizens, who join the EU family member in Italy, must present themselves and will have to present only the documents indicated with (*) and documents proving that the family member is in Italy;

v Family members of EU-citizens, who don’t travel together with EU family member, must present all the documents listed above, required for a regular VISA.

If you are travelling for BUSINESS REASONS, you have to present the documents listed below, pay the fee and answer questions about your planned trip. The following documents should be submitted in original plus one photocopy (please note that documents should be in English language version when not in Italian language):

- Application form;

- One recent photograph (full frontal picture, light background, no tinted glasses);

- Valid passport with at least two blank pages, the validity date of which must exceed the visa’s validity for at least three months. Passport issued more than 10 years before the visa application are not accepted;

- A valid Residence permit in Cyprus, the validity date of which must exceed the visa’s validity for at least three months;

- Marriage certificate and Passport of husband/wife (if applicable);

- Two way flight ticket or approved reservation;

- Hotel reservation (or letter of invitation if accommodation provided by hosting person in Italy);

- Proof of sufficient financial funds (e.g. bank account statement, from banks present in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, stamped and signed covering last 3 months, bank letter stamped and signed, information on salary, last three pay slip or declaration of support of the host);

- Travel Health Insurance policy. - Certificate of registration of the Cypriot company;

- Certificate of Directors and Secretary of the Cypriot company issued by the Registrar of Companies (not older than three months from the day of presentation);

- Letter of the Cypriot company stating the position held by the applicant in the said company, the reason of the trip, the salary of the applicant;

- Evidence of the business relation between the Cypriot and the Italian company (letters, invoices, orders placed, bills of lading, etc.).

- Invitation letter from the Italian Company stating the name of the invited person, the purpose of the visit and the duration of the visit in Italy (see attached form). The signature of the legal representative of the Italian company that extended the invitation must be accompanied by a copy of an identity document;

- "Visura camerale" of the Italian company, issued by the competent Italian Chamber of Commerce (not older than 90 days from the day of its presentation to the Embassy). The name of the owner or legal representative of the Italian company that has extended the invitation should also appear in the "visura camerale"

- Entrance tickets to Fairs and Congresses (if applicable).

Once the visa has been issued or after having arrived in the Schengen territory, the purpose of the journey may not be altered. If your purpose of stay is any other than tourism or business please contact the relevant Embassy to find out about the requirements for the appropriate visa.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- Additional documents may be required. Submitting a complete application does not guarantee a visa.

- Visa duration and number of entry can be varied unilaterally.

- Documents issued by the authorities in the applicant's country of residence must be authenticated according to international agreements (Apostille) or must be legalized by the Italian Embassy or Consulate. In case the documents are not in Italian or English, please submit a translation for every document.

- Processing fees can vary upon bilateral/multilateral agreements between Countries and are not refundable.

- A Schengen visa does not entitle its holder to permanent residence in Italy, whether for study, employment or settlement. If you plan to stay in Italy for more than 90 days, please contact the Embassy for further Information.
