On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, H.E. the Italian Ambassador, Mrs. Federica Ferrari Bravo, along with a delegation including its First Secretary, Mr Ernesto Pianelli, and its Cultural Officer, Mr Rocco Pace visited The Cyprus Institute’s premises in Athalassa.
Hosting the meeting was CyI Vice-President of Operations, Dr Michalis Yiangou, in the presence of CyI Assistant Vice President for Institute Affairs Dr Nicolas Jarraud, CyI Head of the Sustainability and Built Environment Division Prof. Salvatore Carlucci, and CyI Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mr Fabio Montagnino.
Following a brief presentation by Dr. Jarraud on the Institute’s research and educational activities, as well as the close historic academic ties of CyI with Italy, the delegation was given a guided tour of CyI campus and Institute’s laboratories, and had the chance to meet with Italian and Italian-speaking researchers.
Finally, the Italian Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to visit, and expressed her willingness to support the reinforcement of existing relationships, and the creation of new academic partnerships between Italian institutions and CyI, including the continuation of the successful, jointly organised, Enrico Fermi Lecture series.
