Passengers arriving in Cyprus - Updated on 12 January 2022

Below is a description of the temporary measures travelers will need to follow due to the emergence of the new Omicron Variant and the regular entry protocol into the Republic of Cyprus.

Temporary measures

With effect from 14 January 5 a.m. until 31 January 2022, all passengers aged 12 years and over arriving in the Republic of Cyprus are required to undergo a PCR (molecular) test, valid up to 72 hours prior to departure, or an antigen rapid test, valid up to 24 hours prior to departure.

All passengers aged 12 years and over will have to undergo a PCR (molecular) test upon arrival regardless of the original country of departure. The cost of the PCR examination will be borne by passengers themselves.

Moreover, all passengers who have not received the booster/3rd dose of the vaccine, are required to undergo a rapid antigen test after 72 hours from the date of arrival. The rapid antigen test will be provided free of charge through the Ministry of Health testing points, by showing their boarding pass and proof of identification (identity card, passport).

Regular entry protocol

From the 2nd of December, Italy is classified as red category country.

Passengers from Italy, who do not hold a complete EU Digital Covid Certificate (EUDCC), can enter Cyprus by presenting a negative certification of a molecular swab (PCR), performed up to a maximum of 72 hours before departure. Upon their arrival in Cyprus, passengers shall be required to undergo a new test and remain in self-isolation until the test result is issued. The examination cost will be borne by themselves. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from taking the test.

Cyprus Flight Pass

All arriving passengers must register and complete online, no earlier than 48 hours before the trip, the Cyprus Flight Pass by registering on the portal https://cyprusflightpass.gov.cy/
