Remembrance Day - 27 January 2022

January 27 of each year is the Remembrance Day of the holocaust victims. This day marks the anniversary of the liberation in 1945 of Auschwitz-Birkenau by the Red Army.

As part of the initiatives promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Embassy informs that it is available on the Vimeo Channel of “Italiana” the video of the virtual tour of the exhibition “1849-1871. Jews of Rome between segregation and emancipation ”. The video has been realized in collaboration with the Jewish Community of Rome.


The exhibition, set up at the Jewish Museum of Rome, benefit loans from the most important Italian museums of the Risorgimento and prestigious private collections, with the aim of narrating the commitment and involvement of Italian Jews in the period of the Risorgimento.

The exhibition, consisting of 70 works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, manuscripts and photographs, can be visited until May 27, 2022.
