Stefania Pennacchio’s exhibition “L’oscillazione dei contrari nelle case del cielo” – Larnaca Biennale

The Larnaca Biennale opened on 13th October with the official inauguration of the event.

On October 16th, at 7.30 p.m. at the Multispace of Creativity and Culture, the sculptural installation by the Italian artist Stefania Pennacchio will be presented, entitled “L’oscillazione dei contrari nelle case del cielo”.

The exhibition, curated by Jean Blancheart and Vassilis Vassiliades, was selected as a parallel event of this edition of the Biennale, a choice that renews and further strengthens the artistic ties between Italy and Cyprus.

This is an exhibition of considerable artistic relevance resulting from the sensitivity of one of the most renowned Italian sculptresses, who devoted her life to the study and experimentation of ceramic sculpture.

Through the reference to symbolism in archaic Hellenic and pre-Hellenic cultures, the artist investigates the figure of the woman, her centrality in the ancient Mediterranean culture, and the sacredness of the feminine that is intrinsically linked to the element of water, a symbol of life and fertility.

The Embassy of Italy in Nicosia was able to grant its patronage and to support the exhibition thanks to the funds of the Bilateral Cultural Agreement between Italy and Cyprus.
