WEBINAR – 1st CYPRIOT-ITALIAN HEALTH INDUSTRY WEB FORUM

The Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce organises under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus the I° Cypriot-Italian Health Industry Web Forum on the 25th of June at 15.30 (EEST). The webinar aims to promote and strengthen professional and economic relations between Italy and Cyprus in the healthcare sector, focusing on “Health Innovation” and “Health Economics and  Management”.

The public and private health industry, also known as “white economy”, is a key driver of the Italian economy (it contributes more than 10% to the national GDP, employing over 2.4 million people, about 10% of total employment) and a booster of innovation and R&D.

The webinar will be opened by an address of the Cyprus Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, H.E. Kyriakos Kokkinos. The President of OEB will also welcome the participants.

Speakers from Italian universities (Università Campus Biomedico Rome and Università di Messina) and Italian health organizations (Assogenerici, Associazione Italiana Ospedalità Privata etc.) will highlight Italian strengths in this sector and the potential of international cooperation with Cyprus. Experts from Cypriot universities and local health association (University of Nicosia, European University Nicosia, Cyprus Health Insurance Organization, PHARCHEM, SAIEEK, PASIN, etc.), will contribute to the discussion in order to implement partnership and mutual collaboration.

The Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, host of the webinar, has officially started operating by the beginning of 2020. Previously, as Sintesi Business Network, it has organized the Conference “Doing business in shipping – a landmark for Cypriot-Italian business and commercial relations” and the Cypriot-Italian business forum “Energy transition. Opportunities and cooperation through the national and European legislation”. the Chamber aims to promote the development of economic, commercial and professional relations between Italy and Cyprus.
