Italian Jazz in Cyprus: Luca Ciarla

Italian Jazz in Cyprus: Luca Ciarla

The jazz violinist Luca Ciarla will be in Cyprus for three concerts organized in collaboration and with the support of the Italian Embassy in Nicosia at the beginning of July, on the occasion of the summer tour which takes its name from the musician's latest project, Mediterramìa. After a few stops in Italy, Switzerland and Lebanon, Luca Ciarla will perform in Cyprus on 3 July for the prestigious AglanJazz Festival in Nicosia. Two more concerts will follow, in Limassol (6 July) and in Paphos (11 July).

The participation of Luca Ciarla at the AglanJazz Festival is of particular interest, as it is one of the most famous jazz music events in Cyprus, with the presence of musicians from different European countries. Established in agreement with the Violipiano record company, the presence of Luca Ciarla in AglanJazz is the result of the collaboration launched by the Italian Embassy with the Municipality of Aglantzia aiming the promotion of the presence of Italian artists in Cyprus in the context of cultural events of renowned success.

Luca Ciarla has performed successfully in jazz, classical and world music festivals and in a long series of concerts in more than fifty countries worldwide: from the Montreal Jazz Festival to the Performing Arts Center in Hong Kong, from Celtic Connections in Scotland at the Festival Villa-Lobos in Rio de Janeiro, from the Melbourne Jazz Festival to the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Italy. Luca Ciarla's music transcends the boundaries between musical genres to trace an innovative sound path in perfect balance between written compositions and improvisation, traditional and contemporary sounds.
