The Embassy of Italy informs that the MiBACT “Direzione Generale Biblioteche e Istituti culturali”, with Decree n. 50 of February 5, 2019, announced a call for tenders to award translations, to be financed with the Fund for the enhancement of the Italian culture and language abroad, established pursuant to Law 11 December 2016 n. 232.
The deadline for submitting applications is 3th of May 2019.
The announcement provides n. 10 (ten) prizes for translations into Italian or Italian into foreign languages, of:
• literary works in prose and poetry;
• works of literary criticism, artistic criticism, essays, scientific research;
• cinematographic and theatrical scripts.
Applications can be submitted by individual translators, publishers, film and theater production houses, of Italian or foreign nationality.
Candidates must apply to participate directly to the Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo – Direzione Generale Biblioteche e Istituti culturali, Via Michele Mercati 4, 00197 Roma, according to the procedures specified in the announcement.
