Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Vincenzo Amendola in visit to Cyprus

The two-day mission of Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Vincenzo Amendola to Cyprus ends today. The Italian Government’s representative, who arrived yesterday in the Capital of Cyprus, met with the Minister of Health George Pamboridis and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides.
The main topics of the consultation were bilateral relations, migration and energy.
Moreover, in view of the General Assembly of the United Nations next week in New York, there was an exchange of views on the “Cyprus problem”, the resolution of which would benefit not only the people living on the island, but also the entire surrounding region. Italy – Undersecretary Amendola said – has always followed with great attention the negotiations and hopes that the current difficulties can be overcome.
The talks confirmed the excellent state of the bilateral relations, which were further enhanced by the visits in the last few years and the collaboration in the energy and defense sectors.
